Charlene June Rainey

Charlene June Rainey, age 75, went home to be with the Lord on March 15, 2017. Born in Akron on June 14, 1941, she lived in Mogadore most of her life and graduated from East High School. Charlene was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and reading her Bible, but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Preceded in death by mother, Iva Estel Bender; father, Charles Bender; and grandpa, Floyd Channels, Charlene is survived by her husband of 56 years, Douglas Rainey Jr.; sons, Todd (Tammy) Rainey and Rodd (Amy) Rainey; daughter, Christine (Christopher) Mikolajczyk; eight loving grandchildren, Jason, Caitlyn, Gideon, Liam, Rodd Jr., Christine, Abigail and Aiden; mother-in-law, Alberta Rainey; brother, Charley (Patty) Bender; sisters, Carol (Donnie) Hall and Colleen Paolucci; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Saturday, 12 noon at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312 with Pastors Joseph Serbin and Ed Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore. Friends and family will be received at the funeral home prior to the service Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
