Carolyn S. "Suzie" Koegle

Carolyn S. Koegle, age 79, passed away April 29, 2021. Born in Little Birch, W.V., she lived in the Akron/Uniontown area for 48 years. Suzie was a homemaker and caretaker to grandchildren and many neighborhood children. She was a member of the Akron Police Ladies Auxiliary. She loved cooking, especially large family dinners. Suzie was preceded in death by her husband James Koegle. She is survived by her daughter, Becky (Koegle) Leith and husband Mike; granddaughters, Samantha Blackwell and husband Ryan of Wilmington, NC, Morgan Jones and husband Nick of Oklahoma City, OK; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Aubrie Blackwell, Tristan and Haley Jones; brothers, Denny (Diane) Riffle, Kenny (Diane) Riffle); sisters, Kathy (Arnold) Weil, Margaret (Russ) Subjinske, Cheryl (Vic) Shingler; and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, 70 West Streetsboro Street, Suite 201, Hudson, Ohio 44236. Friends and Family will be received Monday, May 10th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91) Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 11th, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rich Ferris officiating. Due to COVID, masks and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
