Elizabeth J. "Betty" Prunesti

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Prunesti, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2020. A life resident of Akron, Betty graduated from Kenmore High School and served in the Marine Corps Reserves. She was a member of St. Matthew Parish, and enjoyed hiking, swimming and playing cards. Above all, Betty enjoyed spending time with her family. Preceded in death by her husband, Dominic; son, Robert; sister, Eileen; and brother, Frank, she is survived by sons, Dominic (Jean) and Joe (Misha); daughter, Ann Marie (Bill) Eikelberry; grandchildren, Aileen, Tony, Mary, Nick and Joey; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Isaac and Evelyn; and sister, Marjorie C. Lapinski. Betty’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the amazing staff at the Village of St. Edward at Green for their loving care. Friends and family will be received Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2580 Berne Street, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Father Michael Williamson presiding.
