Floyd "Shorty" Huddleston

Floyd Huddleston, 81, passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2016. Born in Baxter, Tenn. to Charles and Minnie Bell Huddleston, he lived most of his life in the Akron area. Mr. Huddleston was a brick mason by trade and owned C & H Construction. He was a member of Hope Baptist Church. Shorty enjoyed mowing and caring for his lawn, and was always proud to show it to others. Preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann, who died on Mother’s Day in 1989; one brother, one sister, and his stepfather, Arnold Vinson. He is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Carol (Mark) Biggs, Tami (Wayne) Roud, Gregg Crawley and Troy (Lisa) Crawley; grandchildren, Mary (Caleb), Justin and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Conner, Clayton and Ella; sister, Callie (Ben) Brown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends and family will be received Wednesday (TODAY), from 6 to 8 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312, where funeral service will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to the Cat Humane Society, 2840 N. Pleasants Highway, St. Marys, WV 26170.
