Loretta Stager Darst

Loretta Stager Darst, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2018. Born in Smithfield, Pa., she lived most of her life in the Akron area. Loretta retired after many years as secretary at Annunciation School in Akron. She enjoyed traveling and polka dancing. Preceded in death by her husband, John Stager; son, Jimmy Stager; husband, William Darst; three sisters and one brother, Loretta is survived by son, Bill Stager; stepdaughters, Pat Norris and Nancy DeLuca; grandchildren, Heather, Lindsay and Dale Stager, and Andy (Taylor) Stager; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Dylan; numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and sister, Elsie Kainrad. Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 1, at 10 a.m. at Visitation of Mary Parish (formerly Annunciation), 55 Broad Street, Akron, Ohio 44305. Family and friends will be received at the church prior to the service, beginning at 9:15 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park, after which lunch will be served at Dowd Hall, which is on the church property.
