Mary Lou Hickerson

Mary Lou Hickerson “Sugar”, age 89, passed away on August 13, 2015. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., she grew up in Madison, Ohio and lived most of her life in Mentor. After retirement, she and her husband relocated to Hartville. Mary Lou was employed at Goodyear, J.C. Penney and TransOhio Bank. She was a member of the North Canton YMCA where she swam many miles. In her spare time, she also enjoyed playing golf and sewing. Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Paul Hickerson, Mary Lou is survived by sons, Tom (Sally) and Gary (Joyce); daughter, Teri (Bill) Walker; grandchildren, Morgan, Megan, Nathan, Jessica, Steven and Scott; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Catlin and Liam. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), with Rev. Richard W. Ferris officiating. Interment will follow at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Windsor Medical Center, 1454 E. Maple Street, North Canton, OH 44720.
