William "Bill" R. Mills

William “Bill” R. Mills, age 70, went home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2016. Bill was born and raised in Buckhannon, West Virginia, and graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School in 1964. He went on to serve in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Enterprise. After marriage Bill lived most of his life in Marlboro Township. He retired from the Hoover Company after many years of service. Bill was a member of the Chapel in Marlboro, and was a volunteer with the Ohio Public Golf Association. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, garage sale shopping, and especially loved the time he spent with family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Brenice Mills; and four siblings. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Louetta, of 45 years; sons, Brandon (Holly), Dustin and Will; granddaughters, Calista and Everly; brother, Cleston (Nancy) of Buckhannon, WV; sisters, Wren (Mendel) Zirkle of Bridgeport, WV, Hettie Hall of Akron, OH, Dora Parkhill of Buckhannon, WV, Dorothy (Darryl) Harper of Louisville, OH, and Wricky Barnett of Akron, OH Friends and family will be received Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday with Pastor Joel Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Uniontown. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Northeast Ohio Chapter ALS Association, 6155 Rockside Road, Unit 403 Independence, Ohio 44301.
