William G. "Bill" Ellesin

February 6, 1946 - July 12, 2021

Bill was born in Akron, Ohio of Serbian parents and he was always proud of his Serbian heritage and enjoyed carrying on traditions, especially cooking. He is a 1964 graduate of Green High School where he excelled in basketball, baseball, football, and track. During this time, he created memories with friends who remain good friends to this day. After high school Bill served in the Air Force during Vietnam and was honorably discharged. His military experience led him into Air Traffic Control training and working for the FAA in some of the busiest airports in the country for 37 years. After retirement, Bill put his energy into organizing a youth baseball team. He loved sharing his knowledge of the game and teaching the kids, not only how to play the game but most importantly to have fun playing baseball. Bill loved his wife very much and was so proud of her and his children. He loved to talk about how each one has excelled in their lives, relationships, and sports. He was most proud of each one becoming a good person, charitable and kind, and putting God and family first. For the past 2 years, Bill and his wife enjoyed volunteering at Sunday school. He was known as “Mr. Bill,” the door man making sure children got to their classrooms and back to their parents safely. Cooking for family and friends was his passion and he is famous for his homemade canned peppers. He loved watching cooking shows like Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, football games, and competing with his family while watching the Wheel of Fortune. Bill loved his country and was a strong Republican who enjoyed discussing politics with his wife and anyone who would listen. Bill is survived by his wife Alex, a big family, and many good friends who love him very much. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Marlboro Fire Department, 9577 Edison St. Alliance, OH 44601. A funeral mass will take place Thursday, July 15th at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish, 2643 Waterloo Rd. Mogadore, OH 44260. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
