Anna Rose Sothen

Anna Rose Sothen, 95, of Akron, Oh, passed away on June 3, 2025 at Summa City Hospital. She was born in Idamay, WV on April 14, 1930, to parents Delbert and Wanna (Curry) McIe.

Anna Rose retired from Parker Hannifin Corp. after 34 years of employment at the age of 85. She was a long-time member of the Uniontown Chapel of Faith Church and was a volunteer at the food pantry until the covid pandemic hit in 2020.

Anna Rose is survived by a daughter, Connie Barber; son, Norman Eddie (Francine) Sothen; son in law, Bill Shively; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Sothen in 1984; a daughter, Debra Ann Shively in 2017; son-in-law, Randy Barber and grandson Heath Sothen, both in 2021.

Visitation will be Monday, June 9th from 5 to 7pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 10th at 11am with burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery on Canton Rd.
