Betty Jean Marquard

Betty Jean Marquard, age 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 10, 2021. Betty was born in Akron, Ohio. She lived in Green and retired to Sun City West, Arizona. She graduated from Springfield High School and Kent State University. Betty retired from teaching at Springfield High School after 30 years of service. She enjoyed golf, bridge, bingo, and being with family and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Marquard; mother, Jean Carlson; father, Leonard Carlson; and her brother, Larry Carlson. She is survived by her son, David (Sue) Marquard; daughter, Lynne (Joe) Pacuit; along with four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends and family will be received Friday, October 15th from 1 to 2 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver UNIONTOWN Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Avenue), Uniontown, Ohio 44685 Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. with Rev. Joel Cochran officiating. Burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staffs at Greenview Senior Assisted Living and Compassionate Care Hospice for their care and support of Betty. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Springfield High School Alumni Scholarship Fund. Social distancing during visitation is greatly appreciated.
