Bruce A. Smith, entered eternal rest at the age of 77, on October 28, 2023 following a long illness. A 1970 Army Veteran, Bruce was a proud patriot and received commendations for faithful performance of his duties and for meritorious service. Following his military service, Bruce completed his college education and graduated from Kent State with a Bachelor's Degree. His career years were busy ones, serving at Summit County and Diebold as a Senior Analyst before retirement.
Bruce will be remembered for his unrelenting devotion to his family, his loyalty and dedication to any task at hand. He also was known to enjoy nature, especially hiking the trails in the Metro Parks, and feeding many kinds of colorful birds. He will be missed by all who knew him, his little buddy, Taffy, and his adoring wife of 40 years, Susan.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his brother, Norman Smith (Patsy) sister, Karen Smith, daughter, Jennifer Reeves (Shawn) beloved granddaughter, Allison Porter (Dylan) son, John Scott and many nieces and nephews. Bruce was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Bruce was a fun loving, high spirited uncle, a doting Poppi, and a kind, faithful and generous man. In his memory, the family suggests memorials to Uniontown United Methodist Church or Toys for Tots.
