Catherine L. Cresong

Catherine L. Cresong, 89, passed away on March 4, 2026.

Born in Braxton County, West Virginia, on July 11, 1936. She retired from Edwin Shaw Hospital after 38 years. She had a love of flowers and gardening and enjoyed playing with her grandkids.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Edward Cresong; son, Earl Benjamin Cottrell; brothers, Lee, Arden, Waldo, and Eugene Boggs; sister, Arlene Boggs; and parents, Fred and Ocie Boggs. She is survived by her children, Albert Cottrell, Betty Hermes (Marvin), Jeannie Schmader, Dottie Witherspoon, Peggy May (Jonakey); grandkids, Jodi Evans, Stacy Sommers, Viktor Poor (Miranda), Jason Cottrell (Tehra), Angela Mills (Brian), Jessica Grable (Robert), Jack May (Tiffani), , Deven Heit; 18 great grandkids; 2 great great grandkids; siblings, Charles White (Rosie) and Elliot White (Linda).

Family and friends will be received Saturday, March 7th from 2 to 4 pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. A graveside service will be held Monday, March 9th at 12pm at Hillside Memorial Park.
