Charles E. “Chuck” Clatworthy, age 89, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021.
Chuck was born in Kent, Ohio and lived in the Akron, Mogadore area. He graduated from East High School, class of 1950. Chuck served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was employed at Mechanical Mold & Machine for 15 years and Goodyear Tire & Rubber for 17 years. Chuck was a member of the Masons, Lions and Mogadore United Methodist Church. He so loved his precious grandchildren. He and his grandson ”Gabe” shared a special bond joking daily “I love your legs!” He loved his time spent at his Lake Erie fishing home and campground, a place he never wanted to leave. He enjoyed tinkering. There was never throwing something away, he could fix anything. Cars, boats, lawnmowers etc., you name it he could and would fix it. He also enjoyed hours spent in his garden.
With his passing, we are not sure we will know how to do things the “right” way without him by our side; but, we know he will be watching over us and our attempts to make sure we at least try.
Preceded in death by his sister, Jean Zickefoose, Chuck is survived by his wife of 67 years, Martha “Beth”; son, Duane Clatworthy; daughters, Debra Grubb (William) and Cheryl McInturff (Dale); grandchildren, Gabriel and Jocelyn McInturff; and three nieces.
Cremation has taken place. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on May 21, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. The family suggests memorials to Mogadore United Methodist Church, 3828 Mogadore Road, Mogadore, Ohio 44260 or Mogadore Lions Club, P.
