It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles H. Oldham, preceded in death by his mother, Lucille, and daughter, Christie. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (nee Leonard) Oldham; daughters Carla Ott, Jennifer Oldham, Julie Lance and Kelly Cates; grandchildren Michael, Brandon, Megan, Elizabeth, Max, Jacquelyn, Lexi, Gabi, McKenzie; many more great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Charles passed peacefully on June 24, 2025, at the age of 89. He will be deeply missed.
Born on October 30, 1935, in Ellet, Ohio. Charles was the most patient, kind, and loving son, husband, and father you could ever ask for. He will be remembered for his quick wit, gentle nature, and love of all sports, especially golf. Those who knew him will cherish his mischievous chuckle, his words of wisdom, and his unshakable sense of integrity. He attended The University of Akron and retired from the City of Akron Fire Department after 35+ years of service.
A small graveside memorial service will be held Sunday, June 29th at 2 pm at Maple Hill Cemetery on Albrecht Rd., across from Springfield Church of The Brethren.
