Colleen Burket

Colleen Marie (Wagner) Burket, born on September 17, 1935 to Floyd and Pearl Wagner, went to her Heavenly home Saturday, April 3, 2021. She was married to the late Oliver Homer Burket, for 63 years, and is the mother of six children: Steve (Sara) Burket, Roy (Pam) Burket, Sue Kolat (Mike), Paul (in Heaven) and his wife Cheri Burket, Don (Conni) Burket, and Andrea Burton (John). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, LeAnn Wagner Johnson and Rita Baase-Shei; and one brother, Monte Wagner; along with dear friends. She was the pastor’s wife of Springfield Fellowship Church for 47 years, teaching Sunday school and serving as the church pianist and many other roles through the years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, lots of music and singing, writing poems, flower gardening, and Sunday family dinners. She was a natural encourager and cared for people with a servant’s heart. Behind her great smile was the joy of the Lord and her unwavering faith that HER redeemer is faithful and true. Calling hours for family and friends will be on Thursday, April 8, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins-Lawver Funeral home 547 Canton Road, Akron, OH 44312. Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, April 9, 2021, friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the service at 11 am, at Springfield Fellowship Church, 830 Ewart Rd, Akron, 44312, led by Pastors Roy Burket and John Burton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Springfield Fellowship Church.
