Curtis A. Rothman, age 56, passed away on September 2, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center with his loving partner, Kerry Bartlett, holding his hand. He fought his illness with all that he had so he could return home to his family, but sadly it was not meant to be.
Curt was born in Chicago, Illinois and was a long time resident of Ohio, most recently in Uniontown. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri and a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He loved to tell stories about his college days -- PG versions for his girls. He was employed by Koch Knight in a job that he absolutely loved. Curt was a legend in the blast furnace industry. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (even when they were bad). The highlights of last football season for Curt were when the "Bucs" won the Super Bowl and he won 1st place in his fantasy football league. Curt was so proud of his trophy, he displayed it in a place of prominence on the kitchen counter for everyone to see. But most of all, he loved being home with his family. He especially loved engaging in witty banter with his girls and laughing with them. Curt was a devoted father to his girls and so proud of them.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Barbara Rothman; sister, Mickey; and beloved dogs, Bucky, Blitzer, Hampton, and James. Curt is survived by his partner, Kerry; daughters, Taylor and Jessie; "step-daughter," Jordan; "granddaughter," Lola; brothers, Steve and David; best friend of over 40 years, JD Burke; the mother of his children, Mary Stine Rothman; and his faithful companion, Oliver.
Curt had a larger than life personality and found humor in everything -- his booming laughter will be missed by us all.
Friends and family will be welcomed on Friday, September 10th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St. NW, Uniontown, OH 44685. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 11th, at 11 a.m.
