Darlene Joyce King

Darlene Joyce King, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 4, 2026. Born in Donnybrook, North Dakota, she lived most of her life in Uniontown.

Darlene loved her family. It was the first thing she thought of when she woke up and the last thing before she went to sleep. She loved caring for them and making sure they were fed with her home cooking. When she wasn’t taking care of her family she was working at the Hartville Kitchen taking care of others. Her life was devoted to caring for people.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Helmers; granddaughter, Tori Jean King; siblings, Darwin Helmers, Allen Helmers, Eddie Helmers, Lyle Helmers, and Ethel Lawson.

Darlene is survived by her family, Karrie (Larry) Stefanov, Chuck (Jeannine) King, Larry King; grandchildren, Amanda (John) Rutan, Kurt (Brooke) Stefanov, Nick King, Colton King, Kaitlyn King, Corbin King, Ayden King, Taryn King; her many great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Tim King, Mick King; sister-in-law, Alice Jean King; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, November 9, 2026 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver

Funeral Home Uniontown, 3553 Northdale St. NW, Uniontown, OH 44685

Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Josh Little officiating.

Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Our family would like to thank The Village of St. Edwards in Green and Northeast Ohio Hospice. The love and friendship you gave our Mom over her five years there is something you do not find everywhere. They truly treated her as their own and we are extremely grateful. Thank you for loving her as she was and accepting her as family.
