David J. Collins

David J. Collins, Sr., 72 years, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 23, 2012.

Dave served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Home Missionary Baptist Church where he sang with the Joyful Noise. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his grandson, Little Bob Vanscyoc; he is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharon; sons, Dave (Crystal) and J.R. Collins; grandchildren, Marisa, Jordan, Brian and Tonya Collins; great grandson, Nathan; and sister, Donna Scott.

Funeral service Saturday, 10 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312, with Pastor Keith Emhoff officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park.  Friends may call Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
