David W. Sherrin

David W. Sherrin, 72, went home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2026.

Born in Uniontown, Pa, he was a lifelong resident of the Akron area. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and worked in real estate and at Home Depot for 26 years. He enjoyed woodworking and helping others. He loved Elvis and country music, attending many park concerts with his family.

Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Victoria Barkett; stepfather and mother, Rick and Margaret Miller; wife, Jennifer Sherrin.

He is survived by his longtime partner of 16 years, Marguerite Beth Peters; his children, David Sherrin Jr., Michelle Melendez (Chris), Laura Ubelhart (Tom); grandchildren, Dominic Melendez (Sarah), Izzy Ubelhart, Gabby Ubelhart; extended family, Keith Pocock, Tracy Pocock, Jenny Johnston (Keith), Matthew Allen (Crystal), Jayce Pocock, Leah Pocock, Donovan Gauer (Kennedy), Alicia Johnston, Delainey Allen, Cody “Rocky” Styer; sister, Kim Thorne (Mike). He is also missed by his special four legged son, Luka.

A special thank you to Starr and Russ for all the support and care given to David these last few months.

Family and friends will be received Saturday, June 13th from 10am to 12pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. Funeral service will begin at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Toys for Tots (toysfortots.org)
