Debra J. "Debby" Petz

March 5, 1954 — March 7, 2012

Debra J. "Debby" Petz, 58, went home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Akron, she was a lifetime area resident. Debby was an outstanding Public Health Nurse and spent many years as a nurse at Camp Carl and Camp Patmos. She was most recently employed as a counselor with Akron Pregnancy Services. Her passion in life was ministering to people. Debby was a longtime member of The Chapel in Akron, and was currently a member of Bethel Akron Church.

Preceded in death by her father, Robert Paul Ausel, she is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Wynn; sons, Alex and John Russell; daughters, Amanda (Benjamin) Wade and Alicia (Paul) Mucha; four grandchildren; mother, Betty Lou; brothers, Richard (Kim) Ausel; sisters, Rebecca (Louie) Elia and Susan (David) Nelson; and many other family and friends.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at The Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, Ohio 44304, with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating.  Friends may call at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron 44312, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.  Memorials may be made to Crown Point Ecology Center, P.O. Box 484, 3220 Ira Road, Bath, OH 44210.
