Dolores Ellen Reed

On Thursday, October 11, 2012, Dolores Ellen Reed, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend went home to the Lord with her family by her side.

Dolores was born on January 15, 1938 in Akron, Ohio where she met and married the love of her life, Richard T. Reed. She and Dick lived a great life together, raising four beautiful children, Rick, Dolores “Lorie”, Steve and Craig, who thrived under her loving and watchful care. She had a knack for making her home comfortable and she cooked everything from scratch, including homemade cookies for the kid’s lunch bags. Dolores was an excellent partner to Dick throughout their 54-year marriage assisting him in all things. She was an avid reader, and in later years enjoyed her computer and iPad applications. Dolores loved games and organized a weekly card night. She also loved Sudoku and could be found on the patio with a cup of tea and her Sudoku book. Family was the center of Dolores’ life and she let them know how much she cared for them. We will miss her loving hugs and laughter.

Beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ralph French; she is survived by her husband, Dick; children, Rick (Paulette), Lorie (Tom) Boyea, Steve (Denise), and Craig (Sandy); grandchildren, Lauren, Hannah, Katie, Michelle, Alex and Tyler; and brother, James T. French.

Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St., Uniontown, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.). Memorial service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at The Chapel in Green, 1800 Raber Rd., with Pastor Mike Castelli officiating.
