Don C. Cassetty

Don C. Cassetty, 81, passed away March 4, 2026.

Preceded in death by his son, Donald E. Cassetty; parents, Chester and Claudine Cassetty; brothers, Ben Cassetty, Tom Cassetty, and Harold Cassetty; brothers-in-law, Willis Hench and Jimmy Cook. Don is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years, Rita Cassetty; son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Leslie) Cassetty; grandchildren, Ryan Cassetty and Ashley Cassetty (Delo Levert); great granddaughter, Xalia; siblings, Janie Cook and Mark Cassetty; multiple nieces and nephews; and many, many dear friends who were like family to him.

Don was a faithful Christian and transitioned from this life into eternity leaving a legacy of profound faith and love.

Don served in the Army National Guard for 6 years and then went on to owning and operating the Uniontown Barbershop for over 54 years. Don was a Charter Member of the Lake Jaycees in 1970. He served as Lake Township Trustee for 14 years and was a Democratic Central Committee Member. Don was a proud supporter of the Lake Youth and High School sports organizations. He was a member of Uniontown Lions Club for many years and enjoyed planning and organizing the annual car show at the Uniontown Festival. He loved sports in high school and lettered in football and basketball in his senior year. Don enjoyed attending football games and still has the original seats at Lake Stadium that he purchased when the stadium was built.

In the past several years he has enjoyed watching drag racing and especially cheering on his son, Bob from the sidelines. He was the Original “C” in Triple C Drag Racing. He loved playing cards with family and dear friends, cookouts and watching the birds and deer from his patio. Don loved the family trips he was able to experience after his retirement and made many lasting memories.

Don led by example and was an honest, simple man who loved God and walked by faith. He always tried to treat people with respect and kindness. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends will be received Sunday, March 8th from 3 to 8pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St. NW, Uniontown, OH 44685. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 9th at 1:30pm with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Uniontown.
