Donna J. Garrett

Donna J. Garrett, 78, passed away on March 24, 2026.

Born in Dover, she had been a longtime resident of Akron since age 19. Donna loved flowers and to be outdoors, taking many camping trips. She had a soft spot for animals, especially birds, dogs, and cats. She enjoyed pool, playing on a league with her sister. Donna had a huge heart, helping anyone that needed it. She will be remembered as a giving person and a wonderful sister.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lois Garrett; grandparents, Mary and Charles Hidey, James Garrett and Mary Stocker; brothers, Gary Garrett and Mark Allen Garrett; several uncles; favorite aunt Doe; nephew, Joey “Buds” Young; and great niece Heaven Miller. She is survived by her sister, Mary Young; brother, John Garrett; niece, Amanda Hier; nephews, Chris Garrett, Jeff Miller, Mike Miller; and several great nieces and nephews.

Per her request, no services will be held. She will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron.
