Donna L. Russell

Donna Louise Russell went to Heaven on January 17, 2026, at 83 years old. Donna was born on January 30, 1942, in Warren, Ohio to Roger and Grace Dietz. She was the middle child with two brothers, Roger (Sharron) and David.

In 1964, she married the love of her life, Bob Russell. They shared 58 loving years together before he passed in 2022. They had 4 children together: Cathy and John Durant, Karen and Mike May, Carrie and Dave Klingensmith, and Bobby and Melissa Russell. Bob & Donna enjoyed traveling the U.S. together, going to and watching Tribe games at home, and supporting their kids and grandchildren in their sports and activities. Together they created a close-knit family dynamic that will last for generations to come.

Her strong love of family was felt by all including her grandchildren: Zachary & Janelle Durant, Sydney Durant & Shawn Tang, and Jacob Durant; Katlin May and Kiley & Michael Marrah, McKenzie and Paige Klingensmith; Alex and Erik Vidas, and Lydia Russell; great-grandchildren Gemma and Cameron.

Donna was a homemaker who raised her family with a home cooked meal every night. She enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, quilting, crafting, home decorating, jewelry-making and genealogy. To Donna, love was the most profound kind of wealth, and the legacy of her passion and dedication to her family will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

After her children were raised, she worked as a teacher’s aid and contributed to the efforts of raising the next generation within her community.

Family and friends will be welcome to help celebrate Donna’s life at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St. NW Uniontown, Ohio 44685, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 PM with burial following at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to Hope United at https://www.hopeunited.life/
