Edith Esta Aponasewicz

Edith Esta Aponasewicz, 91, passed away on March 6, 2012 after her courageous journey through Alzheimer’s.

Born January 26, 1921 in Alliance, Ohio to John and Irma Elliott, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Aponasewicz; half-brothers, Albert and Eugene Griener; and half-sister, Geraldine Wallace.

Edith is survived by her sister-in-law, Alice Griener; daughter, Sherry (Ed) Harrison; grandchildren, Michael (Bethany) Denison II, Kevin (Amber) Harrison; and great-grandchildren, Tyson and Bryce Denison, Cassidy, Gaige and Garrett Harrison.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may join the family Thursday (TODAY) from 6 to 8 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St. (one block NW of the square of 619 and Cleveland Ave.), UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 10 a.m., at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd., Uniontown, Ohio 44685, with Father David Halaiko celebrating.  Interment to follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 70 W. Streetsboro St., Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236.
