Erika M. George

Nov 19, 1991 — Sep 21, 2023

Springfield Township

Do you remember the 21st of September?

I’ve never met a devil quite like this.
To steal away a child in broad daylight.
Who lies in wait, for weeks and months.
“You’re safe now, you’re fine, there is nothing to worry about; let down your guard, my child.”
Only for those faint whispers to turn into internal anguish and roars, this 21st of September, a beautiful late summer's day.
“Just this once more” as you took your last breath.

We lost our sweet daughter, Erika, much too soon.
She had a light that everyone could see, feel, and aspire to have in themselves.

Born Tuesday, November 19, 1991, she was a life-long resident of Springfield Township. Graduating from Springfield High School in 2010, she would go on to further study at the University of Akron as well as Stark State. She was passionate about painting, poetry, and music.

The only thing more beautiful than her smile was her heart. Where she saw a need, she met it with a warm smile and an outstretched offering hand. From stopping to feed a homeless person, to rescuing a turtle crossing the road, to baby kittens and birds, Erika saw the sanctity in all forms of life.

She is preceded in death by her great-grandmother Olivia, Great Aunt and Uncle Dorien and Paul Mattle, and her grandmother, Claudia Labbe.

Erika leaves behind to mourn her loss her parents, Karen and Joe Dailyde, her brother Austin, as well as her father Albert George (Angela), sister Chaunee, and the absolute love and light of her life, her son, Parker, and his father, Jack Leonhard.

Additionally, she shared a special, almost sisterly bond, with her cousin, Sara Daso.  Her aunt Paula Carr and cousin Gavin are also among many nieces, nephews, and her truest of friends who will always treasure the love they shared.

A private memorial service will be held.
