Eva Hope Gump

Eva Hope Gump, 86, went home to be with the Lord September 5, 2025. Born in Akron, she lived in Mogadore most of her life. A proud graduate of East High School, she retired from Carter-Jones Lumber. Eva was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who tirelessly cared for her family. Jim and her were married in High Street Christian Church where she faithfully served the Lord, serving in many church capacities.

Preceded in death by her husband James N. Gump Sr., daughter Lori Sams, grandson Justin Scott Gump, parents James Boyd and Doris Walker, sister Doris Kay Day. She is survived by sons Jamie (Carol), Jody (Beth), Dale (Cindy) and Dan (Julie), daughters Susan (Ron) Whited and Melanie (Dennis) Shumaker; grandchildren, Jody Jr., Daniel, Lorin, Cameron, Paige, McKenzie, C.J., Garrett, Saylor, Marni, Rylee, Otto, Alivia; great-grandchildren Jayden, Journey, Jaxon, Quinn, Hudson, Sophia, Penelope and Carson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 10th at 12:30 with visitation 11am until service with burial immediately following at Hillside Memorial Park.
