Fred M. Laston, 72, passed away and went home to the Lord on October 4, 2026.

A lifelong resident of Ohio, Fred was a gifted artist. A one of a kind free spirit, he could make friends with just about anyone. He loved his family immensely and will be greatly missed.

Fred was preceded in death by his father, Gene Laston, and brother, Gene M. Laston. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Laston; siblings, Gary (Peg) Laston and Pat (Kevin) Reese; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Family and friends will be received Friday, October 9th from 9:30am to 11am at Nativity of The Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd. Akron, OH 44312, with a funeral mass beginning at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
