Gary L. Prough, 71, peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven and into the arms of Jesus on November 27, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lola, and his brother, George; and is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barb; his children, Erin (Oscar) and Jeff (Megan); grandchildren, Calina, Kylee, Maribel, Gabriella, Gabriel, Laila, and Emery; and many other loving family members and friends.
He was a Godly man who lived his life for the Lord. Gary was handsome, patient, kind, but most importantly a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He always had a smile on his face and love in his heart. He was an active member at The Chapel in Akron where he served in the choir for over 40 years. “Mr. Prough” taught high school biology and earth science for Aurora City Schools for 36 years. He was also the tennis coach, golf coach, and senior class advisor.
Gary will be deeply missed by his family and friends. We will miss his smile, his gentle spirit, and the example he set as a life lived for Christ. Psalm 61:2 “When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.”
