Geraldine Heitzenrater

Geraldine Heitzenrater, age 84, died peacefully at her daughter’s home on November 22, 2021. She was born in Akron on March 10, 1937 to Peter and Mary King. Geraldine worked as both a secretary and graphic artist for various companies throughout her life; General Tire, St. Matthew’s School, Akron Board of Education, St. Thomas Printing Department, Ellet Graphics, and County Merchant. She was also a long time member of St. Matthew Parish. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth P. Heitzenrater, and brothers, James and Donald. She is survived by her children, Elaine (Dennis) Wagers, Kenneth (Cindy) Heitzenrater, James (Gina) Heitzenrater, Donna (Ron) Motz, and David Heitzenrater; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother, Richard (Sandra) King. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army (https://www.salvationarmyusa.org/usn) or the World Wildlife Fund (https://www.worldwildlife.org/). Friends and family will be received Friday, November 26th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, November 27th at St. Matthew Parish, 2580 Berne St. Akron, OH 44312 at 10 a.m. with Father Michael Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
