Gladys M. Francis (Harris)

Gladys M. Francis, age 94, passed away on May 12, 2021. Born in Akron, she lived most of her life in Mogadore. Mrs. Francis graduated from South High School and worked as a secretary for Al Moutz Realty. She was a member of Mogadore United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women and was an active member of Sarah Circle. She was an avid quilter with the Portage Patchers Quilt Guild. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Francis enjoyed spending time with her loving family as its matriarch and took pleasure in helping to keep her family’s traditions alive throughout her lifetime. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Dwayne; her granddaughters, Beth and Traci Skye. She is survived by her son, Gary (Julie); daughters, Lynn Straight and Barbara (Ronny) Skye; grandchildren, Doug (Michele) Straight, Danny (Jessie) Straight, Lisa (Tony) Seibel, Leslie (Keane) Crockett, Joe (Meredith) Skye, Annie (Steve) Westfall, Amy (Adam) Farley, Andrew (Tasha) Francis, and Allison Francis; 23 great- grandchildren; and a host of other loving family members. Friends and family will be received Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home located at 547 Canton Rd (Route 91) Akron, Ohio 44312. Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 17, 2021 at noon at the funeral home with Chaplin Terry Arnold officiating. Due to COVID masks and social distancing will be followed. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore.
