Harry L. Read, 84, passed away May 17, 2012.

His parents came to the United States from Ireland in 1882. Mr. Rea was born in Akron, and he had lived in Green since 1966. He was a veteran from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. in 1983 after 35 years of service. Harry was a 50 year member of Adoniram Masonic Lodge, and was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling and going to the beach in Destin, Fla.

Preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Fay in 2009; parents, Robert and Martha; grandson, David Rea; sister, Jennie Hilton; and brothers, David, John, Robert, Donald, and George. He is survived by sons, Philip (Tracy) of Chagrin Falls, James (Teresa) of Norton; daughter, Christy Rea of Manchester; grandchildren, Laura (Bret) Valasek, Brianna, Kelsey and Nathan Rea, and Lyndsay Rea Kapper; sisters-in-law, Tina Rea and Jean Smartt; and brother-in-law, Gene Collett.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St., UNIONTOWN 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), with Pastor Michael Shaub officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
