Hazel Windle McCombs

Hazel Windle McCombs, 101, passed away May 1, 2012.

Born on Nov. 23, 1910 in Fenwick, W. Va., Hazel lived in Akron since 1942, and was a member of Springfield Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Richard (Gene) McCombs on Dec. 3, 2003; son, Richard II on Jan. 9, 2010; son-in-law, Gerald Mollohan on Nov. 20, 1987; and grandson, Michael Mollohan on April 5, 2001.  Survivors include daughters, Barbara Mollohan of Green and Charlotte (Richard) Climer of East Lansing, Mich.; grandchildren, Richard III, Jeffrey, Julie, Karen, David and Thomas and their spouses; five great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Opal) Windle of Lewisburg, W. Va.; brother-in-law, James McCombs of Uniontown; and sister-in-law, Garnet Strickland of Charleston, W. Va.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St., UNIONTOWN 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 and Cleveland Ave.), with Pastor Larry Baldridge officiating.  Burial will take place at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
