Imogene James

December 1, 1924 — October 6, 2012

Imogene “Jean” James, 87, went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2012.

She was born in Tennessee, lived in the Akron area most of her life and was a member of Greensburg Church of God. Jean was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved bingo, her bible study group, going to church and listening to gospel music.

Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 1982; parents; and sister, Edna. She is survived by daughter, Elaine (George) Wohlwend; son, John (Sally)James; grandchildren, Krista (Lee Peplinski) Wohlwend and John (Candice) Wohlwend, Amy James, Andy (Anna) James and Janet (Jason) Snyder; great grandchildren, Sidra and Jack Wohlwend and a baby “James” expected in March; sister, Pearl Sides; nephew, Don Roberts; many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street, Uniontown, Ohio 44685 with Pastor Mike LeMay officiating. Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. Wednesday until service time.
