James C. Ledford

James Claude Ledford, 88, of Land O' Lakes, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026. Born on December 16, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, James lived a life marked by hard work, strong faith, and deep love for his family and friends. One of his greatest joys was listening to his beloved wife, Sonia, play the hymn "How Great Thou Art" on the piano, a song that reflected the faith that guided his life.

James worked for many years as an insurance company sales manager before retiring and moving to The Villages, Florida. He enjoyed traveling, history, nature, and hosting family and friends in his home.

James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sonia Gustafson Ledford, and his son, Dale Ledford.

He is survived by his daughters, Hyla Hoover and her husband, Tim, and Heather Mason and her husband, Joseph; his sister, Suzette Spangler; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, all of whom will cherish his memory and carry his legacy forward.

His faith in Christ was the cornerstone of his life, and his family finds comfort in knowing he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

A graveside service will be held at St. Jacobs Cemetery, 1460 State St. NE, North Canton, Ohio 44721, on Thursday, July 2nd at 2pm.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
