Janet L Currey

Janet Currey, 79, of Tallmadge, entered into God’s Kingdom on April 15, 2026 . Born on August 5th,1946 in Akron, Ohio to Wilburn and Eileen Gilliland, Janet lived a life marked by kindness, humor and service to the Lord. She was a graduate of Garfield High School and made lifelong friendships during her careers at Ohio Bell, Kent State University, Medical Records Corp and Akron General Medical Center.

Janet is survived by her sons: Doug (Jeannine) Lehman, David (Monica) Currey, daughter Kim (Gary) Currey, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and niece: Robin (Amber) Atwood. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Dave Currey, sister: Joy Attwood, daughter: Tara Feldman and sons: Mike Currey and Kevin Currey.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 4-7pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Oh 44312, followed by a short service. Private burial at Northlawn Memorial Park.
