Janet Marie Greer (Codian)

Janet Marie Greer (Codian), age 70, passed away on December 21, 2021. Jan was born in Akron, Ohio and was a lifelong area resident. She was a proud graduate of Garfield High School, Class of 1970. She loved to root on the Rams, especially at the old turkey day games and recently attended her 50th class reunion. After graduation, Jan worked as a nursing aid at Peoples Hospital in Akron. She went on to become a homemaker, raising three sons that were the joys of her life. Besides spending time with her family, Jan enjoyed cooking and baking. Her favorite way to celebrate her birthday was dinner at a Barberton chicken house. Jan was an affectionate person and no matter what, ended every visit or every phone call in ways that made sure that you knew she loved you. Preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Marguerite (Parish) Codian, and son, Elliot Daniel Greer. She is survived by her sons, Jason (Bianca) Greer and Vincent (Kelly) Greer; grandchildren, Alexis Wilson, and Joshua, Samuel, Rachel, and Ella Greer; sisters, Diane (Harry) Howerbush and Cynthia Parker; brother, Louis (Claudia) Codian. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 8th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. A graveside service at Hillside Memorial Park will be held immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Haven of Rest Ministries at 175 East Market Street (P.O. Box 547) Akron, OH 44308.
