Jo Ann H. Thompson

Jo Ann H. Thompson, 97 ½ , passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025.

Born in Akron, she graduated from Ellet High School and was employed with Akron Public Schools for over 30 years. She enjoyed golfing and was involved in a number of golf leagues. She also enjoyed basketball, always cheering on the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Goodyear Wingfoots.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Thompson; parents, Orly and Burl Holland; sister and brother in law, Betty and Bob Simmons. She is survived by her niece and nephew, Lynn Asente (Chuck) and Robert B. Simmons (Karyn), who will dearly miss their Auntie Jo. The family would like to thank Cheryl Murphy for all of her help, kindness, and love 

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 19th at 12 pm in the mausoleum building at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312.
