John M. Hartline

Jack was born on December 29, 1930 and passed away on July 4, 2025.

Jack grew up in east Akron and attended Mason school and graduated from Central High School as class president in January 1949. After returning from serving in the Korean War, Jack married Marilyn Phares and moved to Mogadore while working in construction for over 60 years. Using his carpentry skills he volunteered for many Mogadore community projects.

Preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn of 46 years; brothers, Lealand (Roy) Hartline and Bill Miller. Jack is survived and will be missed by his sons, Russ (Pam) and Donald; sister, Margaret (Todd); and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Also preceded in passing are in-laws, Vona (Andrew) Mayton and survived by James (Betty) Phares, Roberta Morrow and Nancy (Charles) Kelly.

Cremation has taken place and family will have a private service to celebrate Dad’s life at a later date. He will be put to rest next to the love of his life, wife Marilyn.
