John Philip Klein, born December 8, 1958, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, February 5.
“Johnny” was preceded in death by his devoted father, Philip Klein, less than a year earlier. He leaves behind his mother, Juanita Klein; his three sisters, Bobbi Klein, Juanita Lohr, and Essie Mueller. He was a loving father of his two sons, Jesse and Dylan (Amanda) Klein. He was blessed to be the grandfather of Aurora and Taryn.
Johnny lived a private life, spending all of his years in Portage County. He graduated from Field High School, the class of 1977. He was a machinist and worked for more than 40 years at local machine shop.
Johnny was an uncle to many nieces and nephews who will remember him as the playful uncle, always encouraging mischief and fun. He was also preceded in death by his many dogs, nearly all of them named “Bud.”
He followed in his father’s footsteps with his love of golf and side hustle as a ball hocker. Fishing was another favorite pastime. John was an avid reader of the local newspapers and was always current on the latest obituaries—a concept whose irony is not lost on the family today.
The family prays that he has now found peace, scratching off lottery tickets and playing golf with his father (barefoot, of course) in the afterlife.
“We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love… and then we return home.”
No more darkness, no more night. God has called you home.
