John R. Parsons

John R. Parsons, 75, passed away on June 30, 2025. Born in Akron, he graduated from Green High School. John was a proud member of the United States Army from 1969 to 1971 and was a reservist until 1975. He served one tour of duty in Vietnam with the 18th military police brigade. He worked for Sherriff-Goslin Roofing for 35 years. His hobbies included woodworking and trips to the casino, and he loved his dogs.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Cynda Parsons; parents, Von and Wanda Parsons; and brothers, Joel and Delbert Parsons. He is survived by his children, Travis Parsons (Heather) and Stephanie Newman (Chad); grandchildren, Liam and Charley Parsons, Logan Grimm (Haley), Morgan Grimes (Dylan); brother, Dave Parsons; and sister, Jan McCracken.

Military honors will be held Friday, July 18th at 10:15am at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd. Seville, OH, where both John and Cynda will be interred.
