John P. Ricks, born on November 25, 1926, at home on Poorhouse Mountain in Murphy, North Carolina, lived a long and faith-filled life marked by devotion, joy, and a deep love for his family.
A proud WWII Navy veteran, John served his country with honor before earning his degree from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. He later graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in accounting, beginning a career built on dedication, integrity, and service.

His family was his greatest joy, and he was especially proud of his grandchildren and adored his great grandson’s aka “THE GREATS”, who filled his later years with laughter and pride.
