Joyce “Arlene” Cowick (Cameron), 88, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026 with her two daughters by her side after bravely battling cancer for several years. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family, friendship and cherished memories. 

Arlene was born December 2, 1937 in Ottawa, Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norah and Hillard Cameron, brother, George, and sister, Nancy. Her beloved Aunty Dea was also an important part of her life and passed before her. Arlene married the love of her life, Barry Cowick who passed in 2001. Together, they built a life filled with family, adventure and many moves along the way. They settled in Tallmadge in the 1970’s and later retired in Uniontown. 

Arlene was the devoted mother of two daughters, Sherri (David) DeLuca and Kimberley Stoffer, Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she lovingly welcomed into her life as it grew. She had 5 grandchildren: Christopher (Jennifer) DeLuca, Michael (Aubrey) DeLuca, Nicholas (Emma) DeLuca, Abigail (Clement) Ghercea, and Steven (Abbey) Stoffer. She was excited to be great grandma to Jane DeLuca, Capri DeLuca and Auguste Ghercea. 

Arlene loved the simple pleasures that made life fun. She enjoyed card games, puzzles and testing her luck at the casino. She especially looked forward to her weekly dinners with friends where she enjoyed good food, laughter, a glass of wine and the company of the people she cared about. In her younger years, Arlene was a ballet dancer and later became a dance instructor, sharing the love of dance with others. 

Arlene will be remembered most for the love she gave to her family and friends. She treasured time spent together, celebrated the milestones of those she loved and took great pride in watching her family grow. Her memory will live on through her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. 

Per her wishes, a private memorial will be held at a later date.
