Judy Sommers Overholt

Judy Overholt, 96, passed away April 6, 2023. Born in Hartville, she was a resident of Louisville and a member of Minerva Christian Fellowship in Minerva, OH.

She enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, and was a voracious reader. She loved spending time with her family and was known for her legendary oatmeal raisin cookies.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel and Elizabeth Miller; husband, Andrew James Sommers (1965); husband, Victor Overholt (2012); 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 son-in-law; 1 stepdaughter; and 1 stepson. She is survived by her five sons, Jonas (Mabel), Leroy (Clara), Marvin (Rhoda), Philip, Timothy; six daughters, Esther (Dave) Slabaugh, Ruth (Olin) Gingerich, Mary (Tim) Sommers, Joann, Dorcas, Regina; 21 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 4 stepsons; 5 stepdaughters.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, April 11th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bethany Mennonite Church, 3497 Edison St. NE Hartville, OH 44632. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 12th at 10 a.m. at the church with Pastor Joel Gingerich officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
