Julia (Heckman) Pressler, 94, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026.
Julia was born on November 22, 1931 in Akron, Ohio to the late Fannie and John Heckman. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 70 years, William H. “Bill” Pressler; her sisters, Frances Stewart and Marilyn Bornman; and her daughter-in-law Beth. She is survived by her children Andrew (Jill), Stephen (Julie), and Paula (Martin) Clark; her grandchildren Christopher, Kathy, Sarah, Merlin, Pamela, Rich, Ben, Taylor, Amanda, Julius, Scott, David, and Katie; her great-grandchildren Luke, Ava, Mya, Avery, Quinn, Landon, and Fallon; and many extended family members and friends whose lives were shaped by her steady presence.
Julia dedicated her life to her home and family, raising her three children and creating a household known for its warmth, good food, and welcoming spirit. A lifelong member of Grace United Church of Christ in Uniontown, she remained rooted in her faith and community throughout her life. She was a devoted fan of Cleveland Guardians baseball and Blue Streak football, and never lost her enthusiasm for simple pleasures (especially a bowl of Moose Tracks ice cream). Julia was known for her quick wit, sharp memory, and willingness to speak her mind. She cherished time with her family, especially annual beach trips to Oak Island, North Carolina.
Together with her husband Bill, Julia modeled a deep and enduring commitment to family. As their family expanded over the years, they often reflected with gratitude on how the life they began together had come to include so many. Their table always had room for those who became family through love, not just relation. Her legacy lives on in the generations who carry forward that same devotion to one another.
Funeral service will be at 11:00am on March 30 at Grace United Church of Christ (13275 Cleveland Avenue, Uniontown, OH 44685) with an hour of visitation preceding at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace United Church of Christ or The Village of St. Edward in Green (3813 Fortuna Dr, Akron, OH 44312).
