Katherine Thompson

Katherine “Kay” Thompson, age 94, passed away on January 31, 2018. Born in Akron on May 15, 1923, she graduated from high school in Suffield and lived in Akron most of her life. Kay was a homemaker and a member of the United Church of Christ on Work Drive in Akron. She enjoyed golf and ballroom dancing, and loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, James D. Thompson; parents, Paul and Elizabeth Pamer; sisters, Anna Cruise and Elizabeth Bloom, she is survived by sons, Gary (Brenda) Thompson and Greg (Glenda) Thompson; grandchildren, Mike Thompson, Jess Thompson, Nick (Stacy) Thompson and Gina (Boe) Roberts; and great-grandchildren, Justin, Jared, Delaney, Jeffrey, Shiann and Taylor. Family and friends will be received TODAY (Friday), from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation TODAY (Friday) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Karin Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
