Kathy L. McKenzie

Kathy (Vale) McKenzie of Uhrichsville, Ohio died peacefully with the loving support of her family near her side at the age of 70 on March 26, 2021. Kathy graduated from Lakeland High School in 1969 and went on to aviation school where she obtained her pilots license in 1973. She worked at Clendening Marina for 18 years and retired from Summit Racing in 2016 after twenty-one years of service. She loved family, hunting, fishing, and her beagle, Candy. She was a member of The Church of the Nazarene in Tippecanoe, Ohio. Preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Vale and brother Steve Vale. She is survived by her loving husband Herbert J. McKenzie Sr.; brothers Mark (Dia) Vale and Wayne Vale; sisters Linda Bivens and Nancy Vale, as well as many Vale family nieces and nephews; step-children Cherry (Mark) Brumbelow, Sandi McKenzie, Samantha Smith, and Jim (Veronica) McKenzie; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren – all of whom will miss her dearly. The family will hold a private service and lay Kathy to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Community Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio.
