Kenneth R. Stackpole, 89, passed away in Portage Lakes, Ohio on October 1, 2026.

Born January 14, 1937 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, he lived in Akron for over 60 years and was self-employed. Kenneth joined the Navy in 1954, training in Bainbridge, Maryland. He was active duty until 1957, being stationed in Norfolk, Virginia and Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. He was honorably discharged on February 17, 1962.

Kenneth was a member of VFW 8975 in Springfield Township and a lifetime member of the Army & Navy Garrison in Lakemore, Ohio. He enjoyed playing euchre with family and friends from the VFW and fishing Springfield Lake, Mogadore, and Portage Lakes. Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family, often visiting his uncle and aunt in West Virginia. He would visit his great nephew Shaun, great great nephew Franklin, and sister-in-law Karen for Sunday dinners and holidays. He enjoyed sitting outside of his apartment and watching westerns and game shows. He was an Ohio sports fan, rooting for the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bernice Stackpole; brother, James Stackpole; sister-in-law, Karen Stackpole; nephew, Rex K. Stackpole; niece, Nora Stackpole. He is survived by his great nephew, Shaun Stackpole, great great nephew, Franklin Stackpole; nephew, James Stackpole; nephew, Harold Stackpole and his family; niece, Theresa Russell and her family; great nephew, Dustin Stackpole and his family; great niece, Tonia Gobble (Stephanie) and her family; great great great nephew, Shane Seaver; and the family of Rex Stackpole.

Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
