Lowell "Mac" McDonald

Lowell “Mac” McDonald, 91, went home to be with the Lord on August 28, 2023.

Born March 20, 1932 to David and Wilma McDonald in Akron, he was a 50 year resident of Hartville. He graduated from Springfield High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mac retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber after 47 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and watching baseball, especially the Cleveland Indians. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and showered all the little ones in the family with attention.

Mac was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; and sisters, Barbara and Sharon. He is survived by his sons, David (Carolyn) and Ralph (Cheryl); grandchildren, Josh, Brandon (Katelyn), Brooke (Caleb), Matthew; and great-grandson, Wesley.

Family and friends will be received Friday, September 1^st from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), OH 44312. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 2^nd at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
