Marian Jolene Cochran met her Savior in Heaven on March 28, 2021.
Jolene was born in Akron, Ohio on September 7, 1927 to Joel and Beatrice Ross. She graduated from Springfield Township High School in 1945. In the fall of that year, Jolene enrolled at Kent State University where she met her future husband, Robert. They were married in 1946.
Bob and Jolene had three children: Joel, Susan and Roberta. Jolene began teaching in the Springfield Township School district in 1955. She was at Lakemore School for twenty years and at Boyer School for nine years. In the 1981-1982 school year, Jolene was selected for one of the Jennings Scholars Awards in the district.
Jolene retired from teaching in 1984; she and Bob then spent the next 13 winters in Florida.
Jolene was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Ross; sister, Mignon Tenny; daughters, Susan Cochran-Yu and Roberta Young; grandson, Jonathan Truza; and husband, Robert. She is survived by son, Joel (Serena) Cochran; son-in-law, Dr. Leisure Yu; and grandchildren, Rob Cochran, Tim Cochran, Dr. Megan Cochran-Yu, Joelle (Greg) Stine, Kara (Jake) Evans, Jennifer (Jimmy) Jacobsmeyer, and Dr. David Cochran-Yu (Catriona). Also surviving are great-children, Gwendolyn and Bennett Stine, Zoe Evans and Euphemia Cochran-Yu; plus several nieces and nephews.
Marian Jolene Cochran was proud to have been a charter member of The Chapel in Marlboro, Louisville, Ohio.
